Quaint, cozy and nicely decorated. Service was prompt and friendly....and every dish was delicious. Definitely will return!

Food was great, but the service was the worst I have ever experienced. It took 15 minutes to get waters and an hour and ten minutes to get our food, and we were not told that there would be a wait. Great food does not make up for terrible service and I will not be going back.

Good food, all good for and oriental food.

Yummy food. Easy to find vegan options even though waiter seemed uninformed. Will return next time we are in town. Lots of sushi options for those who consume animal product. Also serving your usual Japanese food for a reasonable price.

overall was good, food and place. just the food takes a bit long even when the resto isn't that busy. But we liked it.

First time having sushi! I was quite pleased by the atmosphere and the service. The cultural decor was an enjoyable addition to the kindness that our server showed us. The sushi was so good that we ordered another round of it after we finished what we got. Delicious food in an interesting part of town. I was only sometimes a little worried about the outside. The drink selection was also great for the choices that they had. We tried the volcano sushi and I would definitely recommend that one. Try it! You may end up enjoying the taste of the sushi as I did! 5 stars out of the 5 stars!

Wonderful food, great service, and located right next to a sketchy bus station. What's not to love? Seriously though, easily one of the top 3 restaurants in the area.

I've traveled all over the country and have yet to find a place as wonderful as Tokyo House. Between the food, the atmosphere, and the incredible staff, I just can't get enough! ♡♡♡

Best sushi in town!

Food was ok, but it took about 40 min to make 4 maki rolls. The place was packed, but is still was way too long.

Best sushi around, and a great selection as well! We get the lunch special often and have yet to be unsatisfied. I personally suggest the spicy crab roll. Its a simple classic but it is delicious! If you are a little more adventures I would suggest trying the Pink Lady roll. The restaurant it self is small and tucked away. I personally like to refer to it as one of the few hidden gems of Rutland. Shown in the picture from top to bottom is he Eel Roll, Alaskan Roll, and Spice Crab roll. This is from the lunch menu selection of three rolls for about $13

What a find! Truly exceptional sushi, very fresh masterfully created sushi and perfectly cut sashimi. The prices are very reasonable and the service is good. I rarely give restaurants a 5 star review, but this place is a total hidden gem and worth a visit.

Nice ambience friendly staff

The worst customer service and worst experience ever! We called the day before (February 16, 2019) and checked if we could make a reservation for 7 adults and 10 children. The restaurant confirmed the reservation. And of course we get there at 6pm on the day of the reservation (February 17, 2019) and the hostess let us know that they would not be able to seat our party. Now they could have told us that on February 16th when we had called to make the reservation and we would have happily looked for another place. Bottom line - if you make a reservation dont expect them to honor it!

Tokyo House has the best sushi in Rutland in my opinion. I'm a regular there and have enjoyed getting to know the owner. I recommend the King Crab Surprise roll and the peanut roll is simple but delicious. I'm partial to salmon, myself. Now they have a liquor license!

Amazing sushi at this small unassuming restaurant in the city. The fish is very fresh, the wait staff are very courteous and helpful.The list of sushi rolls is long and very creative. Next time I will try the Udon!

Best Japanese food I've had in Vermont and some of the best ever. Granted, I can't vouch for anything besides vegetarian food here, but what we did eat was absolutely excellent. The avacado rolls were very fresh, dumplings super tasty and the Agedashi dōfu was simply delicious. As a side note, I lived in NYC and SF for years,s I have some decent comparisons

Very personable staff and great food. I had the crab meat tempura and the black dragon roll. It was served fresh, and was very good. Some of the best sushi I've had, including in Japan

don't have a lot of money for lunch? for about $8, you can grab quick bite to eat, and with tip, you're out the door with $10. everything on their buffet is prepared in small batches, which ensures freshly cooked food all day. okay, besides jello. wide variety of food items on menu. a must stop if you're in a hurry, or you want to take your time.

I really enjoyed both the seared dumplings and the tuna martini as appetizers. the tuna Martini what's had a ginger spicy dressing that was really good. the sushi that I got was also up to par and very good. I removed one star for the restaurant being overly cold and the server was very nice but there was not enough servers to to keep up with the Friday Night Rush so we waited a lot

I ate 18 peices of sushi in under 15 minutes. The waiter saw my empty plate and simply told me, "good job." I've never felt so proud of such a meaningless accomplishment.

Amazing for date night. Been 2x and will go again. Very popular, plan group events ahead and call to reserve. Ok for kids (though I wouldn't bring my kids... quiet and romantic setting) and wheelchair accessible.

My husband and I have lived in Rutland for about a year and this is our favorite place to eat. They are one of the only places in town that has a good vegan selection; I would recommend the Oshinko or sweet potato roll, and definitely the veggie gyoza. Some of the best miso soup I've ever had! Tokyo House is the bomb.

Always fresh and high quality. Nigiri here is excellent... And having eaten at sushi restaurants that are three times as expensive yet you can't (or wouldn't want to) taste the rice or fish, I appreciate this restaurant when I'm back in Vermont/the US all the more.

So yummy and service is great!

Got the chicken teriyaki with rice and when it came out, it was smoking (literally) hot for a few minutes. By the time it cooled down, the vegetables were burnt and the chicken was dry. I still have the burnt charred taste in my mouth. Barely ate any of it. Told the server, and he did nothing to make it right. Very disappointed.
